15th City Council to hold inaugural session tomorrow

The 15th City Council will start its inaugural session tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the newly renovated session hall which will be presided by new City Vice Mayor Vicente Y. Emano.

In tomorrow’s first regular session, members of the new council are expected to deliberate and adopt new house rules and present the new committees and its members. The 15th City Council will make a name in the city’s history for trailblazing a council that is composed of two districts with each district comprising of 8 duly elected members. The first district councilors include Alfonso Goking, President Elipe, Ian Mark Nacaya, Teodulfo Lao, Jr., Reynaldo Advincula, Ramon Tabor, Alexander Dacer and Emmanuel Abejuela while the second district councilors are Caesar Ian Acenas, Alden Bacal, Simeon Licayan, Zaldy Ocon, Roger Abaday, Adrian Barba, Dante Pajo and Mary Cor Calizo. The 15th City Council will also have as its ex-officio members Sangguniang Kabataan city federation president Jerico Goldmar Ebabacol and whoever is elected president of the Liga ng Mga Barangay city chapter, whose presidency is rendered vacant with the resignation of former ABC president Alexander S. Dacer who won in the last political race Vice Mayor Emano disclosed that the new committees of the city council and their respective composition are as follows: Laws and Rules is chaired by Atty. Tabor, vice-chaired by Atty. Barba and members are Abejuela, Licayan and Dacer; Blue Ribbon chaired by the vice-mayor, vice chaired by Atty. Barba and members are Abaday, Lao and Ocon; Finance and Ways and Means chaired by Simeon Licayan, vice-chaired by Nacaya and members are Advincula, Abejuela and Bacal. Public Works is chaired by Abejuela, vice-chaired by Dacer and members are the ABC president, Barba and Acenas; Education is chaired by Barba, vice-chaired by Tabor and members are Ebabacol, Acenas, and Abaday; Trade, Commerce and Cooperatives is chaired by Tabor, vice-chaired by Acenas and members are Acenas, Dacer, ABC president and Goking; Health and Social Services is chaired by Pajo, vice-chaired by Nacaya and members are Licayan, Advincula and ABC president. Police, Fire and Public Safety is chaired by Nacaya, vice-chaired by Bacal and members are Barba, Calizo and Licayan; Subdivision and Landed Estate is chaired by Advincula, vice-chaired by Abejuela and members are Nacaya, Pajo and Licayan; Tourism is chaired by Bacal, vice-chaired by Calizo and members are Pajo, Nacaya and Acenas while Barangay Affairs is chaired by the ABC President, vice-chaired by Dacer and members are Acenas, Ebabacol and Nacaya. The committee on Labor and Employment is chaired by Dacer, vice-chaired by Tabor and members are Advincula, Bacal and Elipe; Agriculture and Fisheries is chaired by Acenas, vice-chaired by Bacal and members are Elipe, Nacaya and Ebabacol; Environment and Natural Resources is chaired by Acenas, vice-chaired by Abejuela and members are Barba, Elipe and Pajo; Sports and Youth Development is chaired by Ebabacol, vice-chaired by Elipe and members are ABC president, Dacer and Barba. Urban and Rural Poor is chaired by Dacer, vice-chaired by Advincula and members are Tabor, ABC president and Calizo; Economic Enterprises is chaired by Advincula, vice-chaired by Acenas and members are Goking, Elipe and Tabor; Women and Family Relations is chaired by Calizo, vice-chaired by Goking and members are Dacer, Pajo and Abejuela; Senior Citizens chaired by Goking, vice-chaired by Pajo and members are Bacal, Licayan and Calizo; Public Utilities is chaired by Nacaya, vice-chaired by Licayan and members are Tabor, Barba and Bacal; Energy is chaired by Elipe, vice-chaired by Pajo and members are Calizo, Tabor and Lao and Games and Amusement is chaired by Elipe, vice-chaired by Goking and members are Ebabacol, Acenas and Ocon. Vice Mayor Emano assured the public that the 15th City Council will be a working council that will never be used for the political motives of anybody.
