Farewell 21

It seems like only yesterday when I turned 21 years old, my debut year. A number of blessings and challenges came into my life during my 21 years of existence on this world. I was able to land a job and earned my very first salary. Also, I began to nurture my night life where my friendship with some people strenghtened. The greatest blessing that I received was when I was hired at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. It was one of my happiest moments in life because my formation as an Atenean will continue and it had exposed me into situations that made me into a better employee . I am also thankful for the challenges because I had become wiser and can't be easily fooled.

To my family, thank you for the understanding, love, support despite the things that had happened to me.

To my friends, I will always treasure you for you have accepted me for who I am and helped me discover a lot of things.

To my ex and current co-workers, the time that I have/had spent with you is/was always a memorable, exciting, and a learning experience for for me. Thank you for your advise.

To my boss.former boss, I am always be thankful for giving me the chance to show my skills and capabilities. I will never let you down.

As I finally bid farewell as a 21 year old, rest assured that I will never change and will be the Jaysan you always know.

Memo from Fr. Jett, XU President regarding the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems

(from xu.edu.ph > memoms from the president)

In compliance with CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No 53 series of 2006 (Policies and Standards for Information Technology Program), Xavier University will offer Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) vice Bachelor of Science in Information Management and will place it as one of the degree programs under the College of Engineering.

Students who are presently enrolled in the BSIM program will continue to follow the existing curriculum and will earn the degree in the BSIM program during the transition period.

BS Information Systems, according to the CMO, is defined as “the study of design and implementation of solutions that integrate information technology with business processes.” This program “prepares students to be IT professionals and be experts on design and implementation of IS for business processes.”

For your information and guidance.

BS Information Management and BS Management Accounting on the hotseat...

This is only a speculation, gossip... Let us wait for the official statement of Xavier University...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to my reliable sources, School Year 2007-2008 BS Information Management Freshmen Students will be transferred to the College of Engineering effective 2nd semester of SY 2007-2008. Their course will no longer be BS Information Management (BSIM) but BS Information Systems (BSIS).

The Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting will be renamed/replaced by Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology.

The reason for the above changes is that Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan Autonomous Status with CHED had expired.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIS IS NOT YET CONFIRMED! LET US WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF XAVIER UNIVERSITY. THIS IS JUST A SPECULATION/GOSSIP.

The City Government of Cagayan de Oro and The Cagayan de Oro City Officials ( Term: June 30, 2007 - June 30, 2010)

Politics:

We have a new City Officials. Yes! I am happy because majority of them are people whom I voted and trusted. I am also very happy because 3 First District City Councilors are from Patag, my barangay. I am expecting that they will do projects that will benefit the life of the people of Cagayan de Oro City especially in Patag.

Cagayan de Oro is a Booming City. Cagayan de Oro City is dubbed not only as the City of Golden Friendship, City of White Water Rafting, City of Eco-Adventure but also as
A City in Bloom, in Blossom, and in BOOM! Ex-Mayor Emano contributed much in the success of the city. It is now the duty of Mayor Jaraula to continue the booming of the city or find ways to help the city boom more.

I would like to suggest that the new city officials will look into the traffic system of Cagayan de Oro. I believe that are traffic system in Cagayan de Oro is not good. Our roads are narrow especially in the Divisoria Area. I know that the roads cannot be widened but the City Officials should plan a new traffic scheme/ route for vehicles especially public utility vehicles. The new bridges should be opened as soon as possible - Puntod/Kauswagan and Carmen/Divisoria Bridges. For sure, the new bridges will contribute on the improvement of the traffic system. There should be driving education to the Jeepney Drivers. Cagayan de Oro's Jeepney Drivers are not disciplined. They love to load and unload passengers anywhere. Also, they are in a competitive mood with their fellow drivers that they drive their jeepneys very fast. In addition, most drivers don't give the passengers a time to seat down. They automatically run their jeepneys thus, dangering the lives of passengers.

I have high hopes for our new City Officials. I hope that they will able to live the expectations given to them by the Kagay-anons.

Forgive and Forget or Forgive but Never Forget

After watching "Pangarap na Bituin" by Sharon Cuneta, I begin to reflect. What is the right thing to if someone had hurted you? Will you FORGIVE and FORGET or FORGIVE but NEVER FORGET.

I am the kind of person who forgives but never forget. The obstacle in this case is that if you will not forget, you will feel again the pain that had caused you. As a result, you will feel hate again to the person who had offended you.

So guys, the best thing to do is to Forgive and Forget. In doing this, you will surely have a light heart and a good night sleep.

Views: Breakfast Buffet at the Benedictine Monastery ( Every 2nd Sunday of the month)

Picture Taking after Breakfast
At the back is the site of the Breakfast Buffet

I personally invite everyone to experience the Buffet Breakfast by the Benedictines at the Benedictine Monastery (Church of Transfiguration), Malaybalay City, Bukidnon every 2nd Sunday of the Month.

Suggestion:
The mass at the monastery starts at 8:00 AM. If you are a Cagayan de Oro resident, be sure that by 6:00 AM, you already departed from your home.
Summary:

After the mass, people flock to the field wherein tents, tables, and chairs are prepared. At the entrance, you have to give money to the monk-in-charge (though they will not ask you, my mom said that the minimum charge is P 150/pax). The menu includes rice, tanghon w/ bite-size pieces of beef, humba, fried chicken, fish, fresh lettuce salad, juice, binignit, and their famous monks blend coffee. Large pieces of bananas are prepared on the tables.

Comments on the food:
Their chicken is not that juicy. I did not like the fish and the binignit. I love their humba and fresh lettuce salad.
Final Words:

Aside from experiencing the solemnity and great ambiance of the mass in the Benedictine Monastery, you can also breathe fresh air and see majestic scenery. Finally, you are able to help the Benedictine Monks in their day-to-day operations.
